Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and KidBud. By creating an account you accept them. The short version: use KidBud to run your own family's schedule, keep your family's information accurate, do not misuse other people's data, and understand that activity listings come from third parties and can be wrong.
1. Who can use KidBud
You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the children you add, or an adult that such a parent has invited into their family. Children do not have their own accounts and must not use yours. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple, so we never hold a password for you. Keep that sign-in secure. We verify your mobile number when you join, both to confirm you are a real person and so family invitations reach the right account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe someone else has used your account.
3. Families, invitations, and shared access
A family in KidBud can include a second parent, grandparents, and trusted adults such as a nanny. When you invite someone, you are choosing to share your family's schedule, children's details, and feed with them at the level of access you grant. You can change or revoke that access at any time, but you cannot undo what they have already seen.
Only invite people you trust with your children's information. Do not add a child who is not in your care, and do not add another adult's details without their agreement.
4. What you post
You keep ownership of everything you put into KidBud, including photos and feed posts. You grant us only the permission we need to store it, process it, and show it to the members of your family, and that permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You agree not to upload anything that:
- is unlawful, abusive, harassing, or hateful;
- depicts a child in a sexual, exploitative, or degrading way;
- you do not have the right to share, including photographs of other people's children taken without their parents' agreement;
- contains malware or attempts to break the service.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will report material that appears to depict child sexual abuse to the relevant authorities.
5. Activity listings and provider information
Activity providers, addresses, opening hours, and photographs come from third-party sources including Google Places and from other parents. We do not verify, endorse, vet, or licence any provider, and we do not carry out background checks on them. Prices, schedules, and safety arrangements are between you and the provider. Check anything that matters before you enrol a child.
6. Reminders and notifications
"Leave now" reminders are estimates built on live traffic data. Traffic changes, apps get killed by the operating system, and push notifications sometimes fail to arrive. Do not rely on KidBud alone to get a child collected on time or to confirm that a handoff happened.
7. Exporting and deleting
You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time from Privacy & data in the app. Deleting is permanent. If you are the only parent in your family, deleting your account also erases the family's records, including your children's profiles, calendar, and feed. If a co-parent remains, the family passes to them and continues without you.
8. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice in the app before removing something you rely on, unless we have to act immediately for security or legal reasons. KidBud is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for missed activities or late collections, or for the acts of any activity provider or family member. Where liability can be limited, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months or fifty US dollars.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using KidBud and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless doing so would be unlawful or unsafe.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use KidBud after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts of Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
